Tender

I love this photo of Shirley and Kash. Just a sweet tender moment between the two of them.

Anabelle's Mad Face

When Anabelle gets upset she knows how to show it on her face. Here is a photo of her after getting upset at the Zoo - the classic mad face!

Boat Races, Oakley - Id.

When I was growing up I loved going up to Oakley Idaho for our family reunion because I knew it meant that we would be building and racing boats down the canal in front of Grandma's home. We would spend hours, even days building boats - Grandpa along side us helping to use the big power tools that we thought some how, some way would help our boat go faster - when in reality they were just chunks of decorated wood.

This last year I introduced the tradition to my little girls, and they loved it. After hours of putting their boats together (and decorating them a lot better than I ever did) we were ready to race them. The following photo was one that I found on Shirley's camera from last July during our visit. Hopefully we will be able to make it up again this year - I would love to see what kind of boats the girls make again.

Outdoors

Kash is a real good baby overall. But one funny trait about him is that he never cries when he is outdoors. If he is ever fussy, one quick remedy is to take him outside and he almost immediately stops. He loves hanging out at the park, or anywhere just as long as it is outdoors! I see lots of camping in his future...

The Frowny Face...

First off I am not even sure frowny is a word - but either way here is something I hope we remember years from now. Kash has this uncanny ability to be smiling one second and the next put on this "little puppy dog" frown. It seriously happens in a matter of a second or two. While at the park today I was fortunate enough to capture photos of it. What's funny is that he does not cry, he just makes the frown. Usually it is when Shirley is talking to him, but he is not being held. His face is almost his way of saying, "come on pick me up, already..."

Jump on Dad

Tonight as we were trying to get the girls ready to for bed (pajamas, brush teeth etc.) I laid down with Kash on Anabelle's bed. Well what I didn't realize was that I suddenly became a target for a late night energy burst. All three of my girls came in and started jumping up and down on top of me, while Kash looked on in amazement. I am sure he will be up there joining his sisters before long.

My beautiful Katelyn...

While I was going back through some of the photos from our Zoo adventure over the weekend I discovered this photo of Katelyn which I think is absolutely beautiful.

Kash - Livin it up...

Here is my little trooper just livin' it up in Mom & Dad's bed... I think he looks so much like his mom.

Kash in the Shower

When Katelyn was a baby she loved showers. Since then none of our other children have been big fans of them. Well today Shirley brought Kash in the shower with her for the first time and he was not to fond of it. Didn't cry though, so I guess there is still hope. Here are few photos from the adventure.

Vending Machine - Credit Card

At the zoo we were all craving a soda (that was the one thing we forgot to bring on our picnic). Well there was a vending machine there that took debit cards and so when the girls asked if they could buy one, I decided to give Katelyn my card and let her go try it out. Her reaction was priceless. All three girls took off running to the Coke machine with the card in hand. I pulled up my camera in a hurry and caught this photo which to me captured the moment and excitement of all three perfectly.

Zoo Photos

We had a great time at the Zoo with the girls. While there I spent about an hour with a couple to shoot some engagement photos - I will post some of those here this week. As a family we had a picnic there, and the girls loved the tree house with the creek running through it. I would have caught more photos of them playing but I was too exhausted to even run around with them by the time I found a nice place to sit down.

On the computer...

My little girls love the computer. Every night before bedtime at least one of them (if not all three) are glued to it. Tonight while walking down the hall to get Katelyn - the light coming off the monitor to her face was just so beautiful that I had to grab a photo of it. This is the same image I see every night when its time to gather the girls for bed.

The photo was taken in a dark hallway, peeking into a half way open door of the office.

Taste Bugs

Tonight at the dinner table Katelyn asks, "Dad is it true that we have Taste Bugs in our mouth?"

Friday Night Photography

After work today we decided to go out for a Friday night of photography. The girls are actually getting to the point where they LOVE posing for pictures, and are even choosing great settings for photos - little photographers in the making. Here were some of our favorites from playing around this evening.

We are heading to the Zoo tomorrow - decided its about time we took the girls there again now that Elin is talking a lot and loves animals. I am also going to be shooting some photos of a couple that is getting married in a few months. Should be kind of exciting to shoot in the Zoo. We will see how it turns out.

This Weekend's Fav Photos

Katelyn asked me to shoot this photo of her laying in the flower bed. It is funny now whenever I take out my camera the girls are suddenly looking for places to take photos, poses (life of a daughter of a photographer - I guess..)

When Shirley was out with the girls, Elin wanted to buy a $1 pair of sunglasses. Ever since she got them she did not take them off. She loves them! Too cute.

Elin and her glasses.

Cute photo of Anabelle - she always looks great wearing hats.

Lately Kash has discovered his hands. He now loves to suck on them.

I caught this photo when I walked into the girls room around 5pm in the early evening. Anabelle and Elin both crashed on the bed.

Elin said the prayer...

This evening Elin said she wanted to say the prayer when we did the family prayer before bedtime. We asked her if she wanted any help and she turned it down. We then all bowed our heads and waited to see if she would say anything. Suddenly she started, "Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for Mommy, thank you for Daddy, thank you for food, for Kiki, thank you for Anabelle, and Kash." She went on to say a few more things - some was a little inaudible. But nonetheless it was the cutest little prayer I ever heard. I could not believe it was coming from our little 2 yr. old. At the end, she did not know how to finish so she just said, "Amen"

So super cute. I love my little Elin.

Great cause for a great family...

http://www.thewayiamstudio.com/index.html#/wills/

Check out the link above to find out a way to get some great photos and at the same time benefit a great cause. My friend Josh needs to get a double lung transplant and needs to raise some money to help out in the process. I figured that I could help out in the cause. Please check out the link and if you can participate, please do...

Shopping, not for boys...

Today, Shirley dropped me off at work and then spent almost the entire day walking around window shopping with the girls. They got a few odds and ends, nothing big. But more importantly they enjoyed the full day of "shopping" looking at things with their Mom. At the end of the day Katelyn was saying how she had so much fun - "one of the best days ever!" Anabelle then looks up at me and says, "But Dad you would not have liked it, because shopping is not for boys." She is so right!

Are they related...

Katelyn received a $20 bill from one of her friends for her birthday. That night she was studying it and so I started to show her some unique things on the bill. I then asked her if she knew whose picture was on the bill. When I said it was "Andrew Jackson" Katelyn says, "Oh... is he related to Randy Jackson from American Idol?" I should have said, No Dogg! But I was already laughing too much...

Webkinz Birthday

Our friends, The Martin's always have great themed birthday parties. This last weekend our girls attended a Webkinz Party - where all the birthday activities were large lifescale versions of the online Webkinz games. The girls had a lot of fun. While there I shot some photos of my 4 little ones and thought I would share them here.

I think it's so funny how Elin can take her tongue and touch her nose.

I love this photo of Anabelle because while all the kids are running around the room, she is there nice and still. Not even sure what she was looking at, but I love the moment.

Here Katelyn was waiting line outside for a game, and I just thought it was so funny with all hair everywhere. Looks like she just got finished rubbing a balloon against her head or something. Love the detail.

Thadd vs. the Cheetah

So the other day I take my good friend Thadd out with me to scout out a location to shoot some wedding photos with Red Mountain in the background. While out there this crazy Cheetah jumped out of the bushes, and Thadd just barely leaped over him. His kids were so impressed with their Dad's leaping skills, and after looking at the photo all of them were more appreciative of their Dad - that he is still alive after the encounter.

If any parents out there need their kids to be more appreciative and would like to also have an encounter with a Cheetah just let me know - I am sure we can set something up.

Friends son...

This photo is of our friends son, Austin. His eyes are amazing. As I was going through photos this evening and come across this one Elin says, "Austin is so cute."

Goof Ball Photographer

So what does a goof ball photographer do when his wife goes into Walmart for 45 min and leaves him in the car with three sleeping kids? He takes pictures of himself of course!

Pretty silly yes, but I thought they were cool pictures (no flash) and worth posting.

Tiny Feet

Tiny feet are adorable, big feet are not...
